Tell me about the Freight Management System project. What kind of product work was involved?

This was a dense B2B product design project where the challenge was not decoration, but operational clarity.

The work focused on making shipment, workflow, and status information easier to understand while creating dashboard patterns that could scale across the rest of the product.

The Team & Collaboration

I worked closely with the engineering team to ensure the technical architecture supported our design goals, while also collaborating with the VCs to align the product roadmap with long-term business objectives.

Design Philosophy

We moved away from cluttered spreadsheets to a "context-first" interface. By using a modular dashboard system, we allowed users to customize their workspace based on their specific role. The design language prioritized high-contrast data visualization, ensuring that critical alerts (like delayed shipments or port congestion) were impossible to miss.

AI Integration

The AI was the "silent partner" in this system. We implemented:

  • Predictive ETA Engine: Using historical data to forecast arrival times more accurately than standard carrier APIs.
  • Automated Document Parsing: AI agents scanned incoming bills of lading and customs forms, automatically populating the system and reducing manual data entry by 70%.
  • Smart Routing Suggestions: The system analyzed traffic patterns and fuel costs to suggest the most efficient routes for the dispatchers.

The Impact

By automating the mundane, we empowered the team to focus on high-value problem solving. The result was a 40% increase in operational throughput within the first three months of deployment.
